Human Resources Management System
In October 2015, we completed the company-wide deployment of Workday, our Human Resources Management System (HRMS). The project began in 2012 and included three successive implementation waves covering Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, followed by the United States, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region. The system now contains information on about 37,000 employees worldwide and is the unique source of information for HR at SNC-Lavalin. Today, this web-based tool allows users to view and modify their personal and professional information, manage their career development information, and access their annual professional objectives when and where they choose.
The final deployment phase of Workday also marked the start of the 2015 global performance management process, which was fully supported in Workday for the first time. With the global deployment of Workday, we can now manage our employees’ performance using standardized guiding principles and tools that are adapted to our business needs.
Performance management and the ensuing discussions between managers and employees demonstrate our commitment to managing and developing careers at SNC-Lavalin. In 2015, 99% of eligible employees were evaluated.
The talent review combined with succession planning efforts help us create a strong pipeline of talented employees. This not only strengthens the sustainability of our business, but also provides our employees with challenging careers and tailored developmental opportunities. In 2016, the talent review and succession planning process will be hosted globally for the first time in Workday.
